I have heard that about Haysi and Grundy playing too...nothing official yet? Letcher high did close but its my understanding they consolidated with Whitesburg and Fleming Neon to form Letcher Central High and thats the team Haysi will be playing.

Sorry, but no "official" schedules have been released that I'm aware of. The VHSL has released Version 1 & 1.1 of their master schedule, but there's still some bugs we're working through (like the fact that one school Haysi submitted as an opponent was scheduled to be closed this Summer).

Haysi's original schedule had Coeburn on sept 10, but Coeburn dropped it, so they picked up Grundy on the opened date...hope that clears up some of the confusion.........That's what I was told last week....who knows....it may change again next week!!!!!!!!

How are they not "official"? Its 57 days until kick off and a month until 2 a days. I would think everyone's schedules would be set in stone by now.

if im not mistaken grundy already has a game scheduled for that week.

The VHSL "deadline" to submit football schedules is May 1. Failure to due so is a $100 fine. (Nothing says it has to have 10 games on it.)
Additional games may be submitted until Sept. 15th (if you want them to count in the ratings and the official standings).
You can still add to your schedule after that, but they won't count, and you'll get fined.
Someone did that a few years ago (Ervinton, I think).

Haysi's first published schedule from the VHSL had 9/10 open.
Grundy already has Richlands on 9/10. We can't drop them, and we don't share an open date, so more schedule changes are required if Haysi-Grundy is being planned for that night.

I've heard it's still being worked on.

I'm guessing Haysi and Grundy will play on November 11th unless Haysi can get either Honaker or Twin Valley to reschedule and play them in November. I feel it would be more beneficial for both Honaker and Haysi to play each other later in the season anyway. Same for Richlands and Grundy...they play too early as well.

Hey i am all about talking some football but heck i havent even seen predictions or the guys that will be impact players in the area. I do know Haysi should be pretty strong with Jones back and eventhough they lost Sperrow and Colley they should be able to make a push for the District Title, also look for Twin Valley with some of the tougher opponets off of the schedule to have a better record. They should beat St.Paul and Castlewood and Montcalm out of conference and Hurley at least in confrence and who ever that crappy Christian School is. Gotta go will reply more later.
